Who are your favorite writers?

  • Christopher Hitchens; Dr. Seuss; Shel Silverstein; Truman Capote and Eric Roth, Charlie Kaufman, Todd Field and Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel for screenplays

What is your favorite occupation?

  • Filmmaking is pretty amazing. Thank God this worked out, because once I found out as a child how unexciting archaeology actually is, I was pretty disillusioned. After watching "The Raiders of the Lost Ark" I thought that Indiana Jones' hat and whip were standard issue and adventure was an everyday job requirement.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

  • Literally

What is it that you most dislike?

  • The 3 C's - Cilantro, Coconuts and Cruelty

What is your motto?

  • As Mae West said, "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

  • I'd like to have gills in addition to lungs. Seems like that could come in handy.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?

  • Among other things, the misuse of the term "literally."

What is it that you most dislike?

  • Cilantro and Cruelty.

How would you like to die?

  • Happy.

What is your current state of mind?

  • I’m thinking: how do I come up with answers to these questions that are at the same time unique and snarky yet reveal some deeper part of my personality in a clever way (without sounding like I care too much).

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

  • Complete, unrestricted and limitless ability to explore the universe. That would be fun.

When and where were you happiest?

  • The first time I soared a model glider as a kid is certainly in the running. The combination of pride in watching the wings I'd built with my own hands (and the science gleaned from my father) take flight, combined with the sheer wonder of watching it grow smaller in the sky, riding a natural wind current, is something I won't soon forget.

Which talent would you most like to have?

  • I've known people that are able to sit down next to complete strangers and walk away with their life story in a matter of minutes. I want that.

Who are your heroes in real life?

  • John Lasseter, for one. He reaffirms my beliefs that story is king, and it's still possible in this industry to be both successful and a nice guy. Also his office put's most toy stores to shame.

What is your motto?

  • Your work doesn’t show with a disclaimer.
